Two of the county’s volunteer music ensembles have dates on the calendar this season. Here is what the Arts Council and the county’s America 250 committee have posted so far.

An American Musical Roadtrip
The Stanly County Concert Band takes the audience on a musical trip across the United States, from California to New York, stopping in cities through the music associated with them. The America 250 committee lists it among the county’s semiquincentennial events.

Note: the Arts Council’s events feed shows Friday, Nov. 6, but both the Arts Council event page and the America 250 calendar list Thursday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. We are going with Nov. 5; double-check before you go.

Home for the Holidays
The Stanly County Chorale presents a holiday choral program about what “home” means during the season: family, friends, traditions and, as the Chorale puts it, a little mayhem. Two performances are listed.
