Albemarle’s Community Night Out is back on the calendar. The Albemarle Police Department and Safe Kids Stanly County had first planned the get-together for Oct. 3; it’s now set for Saturday, Nov. 14, from noon to 3 p.m. at YMCA Park. Despite the name, it’s a daytime event this year.
The idea is simple: a relaxed afternoon where families can meet the officers, firefighters and emergency crews who serve the city, away from a traffic stop or a 911 call. Organizers list music, a bounce house, games, face painting and food trucks, and the activities are free for everyone.
